How to Grow Oyster Mushrooms in a Bucket

 

Instructions:

  1. Roll up your sleeves and clean your work surface, hands and forearms, and stockpot with alcohol. The cleaner you work, the better your chance of success!

  2. Hydrate the cardboard and coffee grounds by soaking them in water for a few minutes.

  3. Clean your strainer, sieve, or pot lid with alcohol. Drain off the excess water. The mixture is ready if when you squeeze a handful only a few drops of water drip out

  4. Gently break up your spawn bag by massaging it until it’s easily crumbled.

  5. Clean the outside of the spawn bag, your hands, and knife or scissors. Open up the bag.

  6. Clean the container and bowl with alcohol.

  7. Mix the spawn and cardboard/coffee mixture in the bowl until the spawn is evenly distributed throughout.

  8. Transfer the inoculated mixture into your clean container and close the lid.

  9. Cut or tear up small sections of paper towels and tape them over every hole.
